Lincoln Park :: Chicago
After Chicago’s Four Farthing Tavern closed its doors, Ballyhoo Hospitality took on the opportunity to breathe new life into an iconic neighborhood space. The design drew from 1970s Art Deco and the easy romance of an Italian café: familiar, generous, and a little cinematic. We moved the classic red-sauce restaurant language into a warmer, more modern palette, trading expected reds for layered greens, rich woods, soft lighting, and details that felt collected over time. Select pieces from the original tavern were preserved and reintroduced, allowing the space to carry its own memory forward while making room for a new chapter. The result is a restaurant that feels both inherited and refreshed: Italian food just like your mama used to make, only better.
