Asador Bastian
River North | Chicago
Set inside a historic townhouse in the heart of Chicago, this San Sebastián-inspired chophouse offered a rare opportunity to bring a fresh, quietly nostalgic expression of opulence to the city’s beloved food scene. Drawing from the patterned tiles, deep colors, and old-world sensibility of the Basque region, the design blends European charm with the warmth and weight of classic Chicago hospitality. Layered textures, rich finishes, thoughtful color, and subtle pattern work together to create a space that feels both transportive and deeply rooted, more like a storied home than a traditional restaurant. The result is a chophouse with a sense of history, intimacy, and occasion, designed to elevate the guest experience without losing its sense of welcome.
